Our principles: putting money on the screen, staying within budget and getting the best of France for you. That includes world-famous Paris landmarks, stars on their own, that you can have in your images for free, increasing the value of your IP.

France and more especially is famous for some iconic landmarks: the Eiffel tower, the Triumph Arch, the Notre Dame Cathedral…. We know how to handle them. Most of the locations are actually so old that they are in the public domain, meaning that you do have to pay anything to have their images in your frames. We will advise you about how and from where to better have them in your shots, together with your characters.

As we are also producers, we understand the concerns of the filmmakers we are servicing.

We think about how to maximize your budget, and get deals for you. And make sure to keep your director and stars happy.

We master all the possible ways to get money for you in France, even without sharing your IP, first by getting you the support of the Tax Rebate for International Productions ( TRIP). Our company is the one that obtained the biggest amount of money ever for an Asian productions. And Ghosts City’s CEO is the one who created it when he was the COO of the French Film Commission.

Franck Priot

Créateur de Ghosts City avec Ye Shu, Franck Priot est venu à la production après une trentaine d’années d’experience dans le cinéma français et international.

Il a été le producteur ou coproducteur den six long métrages et deux séries télé, parmi lesquels la comédie d’animation Queer Zsazsa Zaturnnah vs the Amazonistas of Planet X en production avec un studio Philippin, le film coréen LAST FILM de Jeon Soo-il, dévoilé à Busan en 2021,. Ainsi que King Baby, long métrage britannique d’Arran Shearing et Kit Redstone dévoilé au dernier festival de Rotterdam, Salli de LIEN Chien-hung, sélectionné à Busan et Osaka, qui vient de sortir à Taipei. Et enfin You Are Here de YEO Joon Han qui arrive bientôt en festival.

Les projets de Ghosts City ont toujours un aspect inclusif, et cherchent à faire bouger les lignes.

De 1987 à 2000, Franck Priot, né à Montpellier, a travaillé comme critique de cinéma et grand reporter à/depuis Toulouse, pour des medias tv et print allants de Télé Toulouse ou Radio FMR à Première, Libération, ou les Cahiers du Cinéma. Il a été le créateur du festival
Extrême Cinéma à la Cinémathèque de Toulouse, où il a longtemps programmé des séances. En 2000, il rejoint l’hebdo professionnel Ecran Total pour lequel il couvre le marché des ventes internationales de films, et publie des analyses de plans de financements.

Devenu COO de Film France en 2005, il a été l’initiateur-clé d’une politique d’attractivité de la France pour attirer des tournages, jamais mise en place auparavant. Il définit des axes marketing pour le pays, créé des indicateurs de performance et des opérations de promotion à
Los Angeles, Mumbai ou Beijing.
Cette politique est complétée en 2008 par la mise en place du Crédit d’Impôts International, un incitatif fiscal, et une modification de la loi sur les visas pour les équipes étrangères.

Une fois la France ainsi relancée, Franck Priot a été pendant dix ans le principal interlocuteur des studios d’Hollywood, d’Inde ou de Chine pour leurs productions dans l’hexagone France, par exemple pour Midnight in Paris, de Woody Allen, les franchises Despicable Me et Hunger Games
ou Chinese Zodiac de Jacky Chan, parmi des centaines de films.

Franck Priot est d’ailleurs vice-chairman de l’association européenne Bridging the Dragon, soutenue par Creative Europe.
Titulaire d’un Master Cinéma Production de l’ENSAV, à Toulouse il est depuis 2022 Experts Externe pour Eurimages.

Ye Shu

Ye SHU, Co-founder and producer of Ghosts City.

Ye began her career in the film industry in 2004 as a sound editor. She previously worked at the Beijing branch of the Australian post-production company “Soundfirm”, she has contributed to the sound editing and design of several notable films, including "Curse of the Golden Flower," "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles" (directed by Zhang Yimou), "The Myth" (directed by Stanley Tong), and "Seven Swords" (directed by Tsui Hark), etc. Her work earned her the nomination for Best Sound Editing at the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Golden Reel Award nomination from the MPSE.

In 2012, Ye obtained a master’s degree in film from the University of Sorbonne Panthéon, focusing on Film Economics and Market. Since then, she has actively engaged in international film projects. In 2022, she completed the "Production Manager for Feature Films" qualification training recognized by the French Film Industry Syndicate, obtaining the corresponding certification.

Ye has played a crucial role in various international co-production film projects. As a producer, she contributed to the English French coproduction feature "King Baby" (directed by Kit REDSTONE & Arran SHEARING), which was selected for the official competition at the XXX International Film Festival. She also served as co-producer for the film "Salli" (produced by Lee Lieh, directed by Lien Chien-Hung), which was featured in the "Asian Window" section at the 2023 Busan International Film Festival, won the 2019 Golden Horse Film Project Award, and received the 2023 HAF WIP Project Award.

Additionally, Ye worked as a co-producer and original story creator for the Bilibili original series "Night Cat Express: Night dreams" (directed by Huang Wei), making it the first Chinese series to be nominated in the official competition at the 2022 Canneseries. She served as the co-producer of the television series "Crocodile and Toothpick Bird" (produced by Teng Huatao, directed by Lin Yan), setting a record for the longest filming period of a Chinese TV drama in France (60 shooting days). She took on the role of festival manager for the Chinese film "Factory Boss" (directed by Zhang Wei), which made it to the main competition at the 38th Montreal International Film Festival, ultimately winning the Best Actor award. Simultaneously, she deeply engaged in cross-border collaborations with France on films such as “Up in the wind" and "La Nuit Noire."

Jacqueline Ben Loulou

Jacqueline has more experience than all of us put together, since she was already financial controler for (cult movie) Diva by Jean-Jacques Beineix, or Luis Bunuel’s latest films at the end of the Seventies.

Jacqueline also an enormous experience in foreign productions shot in France. Also, a visual artist, she only makes projects that she likes. And when she doesn’t participate in our productions, she joins adventures like Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel...
